Following advice from the government and the FIEC the elders have agreed that we will suspend all public church activities until further notice. This includes Sunday services, Home Groups, Thursday Lunch and Messy Church.
We think this is the right action to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus and protect the most vulnerable. It is an expression of Christian love for one another and our neighbours.
Our great need, as always, is to trust Christ our Good Shepherd and to cast our care on him, for he cares for us (1 Peter 5:7) Whilst we cannot meet together we still want to feed, encourage and care for one another spiritually.
To do this we will be producing a shortened Sunday Service on video. This will be available each Sunday on our YouTube page:
For those without internet access the service audio will be distributed on CD.
We encourage you to listen to the service on Sunday morning. It is good to maintain a regular habit of gathering as a church – even if that is ‘virtual’ at this time! Why not listen to the service and then phone someone in the church to talk about it together?
We will also produce Home Group notes and suggestions for Bible teaching that parents can do with their children at home. We will distribute these by email.
We have a responsibility to care for one another. Please do support one another with phone calls and offers of help – particularly those who are on their own and so even more isolated.
We also have a great opportunity to show love to our neighbours. If you are not in the ‘vulnerable’ category, why not post a card through the doors of those in your street offering help if they are self-isolating? Let’s not waste the opportunity to direct people to the security and comfort that’s found in Christ.
Continue to pray for one another, our neighbours and our nation. Pray that this situation will lead to hearts open to the Gospel.
